The Podanur-Dhanbad Amrit Bharat Express (06619) was flagged off virtually by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday.

Divisional Railway Manager Panna Lal and other senior officials took part in a function to mark the occasion at the Podanur Railway Junction. The train connecting Coimbatore with the industrial heartland of Jharkhand traverses through mineral-rich belts of Odisha.

According to the Railways, the service is a boon for small-scale entrepreneurs and industrial workers, and opens up opportunities for students from eastern India to pursue higher education in the premier engineering and management institutions in the western districts of Tamil Nadu.
