The makers of the cult urban rom-com Cocktail have dropped a major surprise for fans, confirming that the sequel is officially in the works. Production house Maddock Films recently took to social media to tease the upcoming project, hinting that audiences will get their first glimpse of Cocktail 2 very soon. It will feature a fresh trio of leads, marking the first on-screen collaboration between Shahid Kapoor, Kriti Sanon, and Rashmika Mandanna. The supporting cast includes veteran actors Dimple Kapadia and Arjun Rampal, along with Rohit Saraf in a key role.

In the announcement post, the banner revealed that a major update will arrive on March 18. Interestingly, the same day also marks the paid preview screenings of Dhurandhar: The Revenge, starring Ranveer Singh. Industry buzz suggests that the first asset of Cocktail 2, most likely the teaser or first look video, could be attached to these screenings, allowing audiences in theatres to witness the reveal before it drops online.
As excitement builds around the revival of urban relationship dramas in Bollywood, Cocktail 2 has quickly emerged as one of the most anticipated films slated for release in 2026. The sequel will be directed by Homi Adajania, who also helmed the original 2012 hit. The project is being produced by Dinesh Vijan under the Maddock Films banner, with the screenplay penned by filmmaker Luv Ranjan.

Filming for the project wrapped up on January 31, 2026, after extensive shooting schedules in Delhi, Gurugram, and international locations in Sicily, Italy. The first-look poster hints at a breezy Mediterranean aesthetic, showing a woman relaxing in the back of a convertible against an ocean backdrop, with a delicate tattoo reading “Catch the sea” visible on her foot. The poster also confirms that Cocktail 2 is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on June 19, 2026—earlier than the previously speculated September window.
With the first look expected to arrive on March 18, anticipation is already building among fans eager to see how the beloved rom-com universe returns with a fresh story and a new generation of characters.
