While the construction of the Bhogapuram International Airport is racing toward its June 2026 deadline, a new study by the Society for Integrated Development and Research (SIDAR) has revealed a sobering reality: the “last mile” might actually take over an hour-and-a-half.

According to the SIDAR report, which was released at Dr. Lankapallia Bullayya College here on Saturday (March 14) by its president Prof. KC Reddy amid other panel members, a traveler starting from the RTC Complex currently faces a grueling 105-minute journey to cover the 50-km distance. The study, which used field surveys and real-time mapping data, identifies the stretch between Hanumanthawaka and Anandapuram as a “corridor of congestion” that could undermine the airport’s economic potential.
