Bad Cop Season 1 Review
“Bad Cop” is adapted from the German TV show of the same name. The storyline, reminiscent of films like “Kaminey” and “Deewaar,” keeps viewers engaged with its fast-paced screenplay by Sameer Arora and Rensil D’Silva. Hussain Dalal’s dialogues add humor and tension, enhancing the viewing experience.
Aditya Datt’s direction is commendable, delivering thrilling action sequences and a gripping narrative. The series, with 30-minute episodes, avoids unnecessary subplots, maintaining a tight storyline. Memorable scenes include Devika defying orders to inspect a consignment, Arif chasing Kiki, and Arjun’s quick thinking to change a truck.
However, the show requires suspension of disbelief, particularly with Devika not recognizing Arjun as Karan. The double-role element, similar to “Mirzapur Season 3,” reduces its novelty.
Performances:
Gulshan Devaiah excels as both Arjun and Karan, bringing depth and nuance to each character. Anurag Kashyap’s presence and dialogue delivery elevate the show. Harleen Sethi impresses with expressive acting, while Aishwarya Sushmita, though underutilized in the finale, shines. Saurabh Sachdeva, Deepraj Rana, and the supporting cast, including Krunal Pandit and Keya Ingale, contribute effectively.
Technical Aspects: The background score by Vikram Montrose and Tallz adds to the excitement. Anik R Verma’s cinematography, particularly in action scenes, stands out. The production design by Juhi Talmaki and glamorous costumes by Gayatri Thadani and Trushala Naik add to the visual appeal. Fast-paced editing by Jitendra Dongare keeps the momentum.
