Foundation stone laid for new bamboo processing unit at Maredumilli

Industree Foundation, in partnership with the Society for Elimination of Rural Poverty (SERP), and the State Rural Livelihood Mission (SRLM) of Andhra Pradesh, has launched a Primary Processing Unit (PPU) for bamboo in Maredumilli mandal in Polavaram district. The region is one of Andhra Pradesh’s most ecologically rich tribal areas, where bamboo resources are readily available and holds strong potential for creating sustainable, community-based livelihoods.

The foundation stone laying ceremony for the PPU was virtually laid by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, in the presence of Home Minister V. Anitha, Minister for Women & Child Welfare Gummadi Sandhya Rani, and V. Karuna CEO of SERP.
