In a tragic incident, a 17-year-old girl, M. Durgadevi of Aviyur, was killed in a road accident at Valayankulam while she was proceeding to Madurai to appear for the Plus Two examination on Monday.
The police said that the girl, who was studying in a school near Teppakulam, was riding on a motorbike with her uncle Ajithkumar.
When the bike rider was trying to take diversion from the four-way highway towards the service road at Valayankulam where the flyover work is under way, a TNSTC bus that was closely following the bike, knocked down the two-wheeler.
