To improve coordination and resource management across three city hospitals, the Delhi government has decided to integrate key public medical institutions and convert them into a unified autonomous institution on the lines of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) said on Sunday.

The move to convert Guru Teg Bahadur (GTB) Hospital, the Delhi State Cancer Institute, and the Rajiv Gandhi Super Speciality Hospital into an institute follows Chief Minister Rekha Gupta’s recent review meeting, attended by Health Minister Pankaj Kumar Singh and other officials, aimed at transforming Delhi into a medical hub. The focus of the meeting was on improving the use of existing resources, as per the CMO.
