Is Coolie part of LCU? confirmed by Trailer Review

Coolie trailer review

From the day Coolie movie was announced, people were wondering whether Coolie also a part of Lokesh Kanagraj’s movies like Kaithi, LEO, Vikram means LCU (Lokesh Kanagraj Cinematic Universe) or not. This rumour was spread on many websites that all the upcoming movies of Lokesh Kanagraj were going to be a part of LCU. This confusion was there during the time of Salaar also whether Salaar is a part of KGF or can it become a part of the same universe.

So let me tell you that it cannot be said that the movies are linked to each other just because of having the same director or same type of cinematic scene. Let us tell you that this movie is going to be a complete Pan India movie, every character is from different industries, Aamir Khan from Bollywood, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, all characters are included, after a long time we will get to see some best mass commercial movie from South after Jailer, and Hunter Super Star Rajani Kant’s movie is eagerly awaited.

Coolie Trailer Review

The trailer did not turn out to be as good as the rest of the scenes of this movie had created hype for it, at times the same music or same frame was feeling like Vikram and Leo type. Anirudh’s music is unmatched but why did the trailer BGM seem a bit repetitive this time? I felt that I remembered Vikram’s One Upon Time music. Above all I would say that this movie is not going to be a part of LCU in any way, it is an individual movie, do not miss it.

Comman Question : Is Coolie part of LCU

No — Coolie is not part of the LCU (Lokesh Cinematic Universe). Director Lokesh Kanagaraj has officially confirmed that “Coolie,” starring Rajinikanth, is a standalone film, separate from his interconnected universe that includes Vikram, Kaithi, Leo, and others.

There was renewed buzz in July 2025 over Kamal Haasan potentially lending his voice to Coolie, which reignited speculation that it might tie into LCU—Haasan featured in earlier LCU films like Vikram—but Kanagaraj reaffirmed that Coolie remains independent and does not connect to those stories.

Regarding the timeline: Coolie is set to release on August 14, 2025, and the director has reiterated multiple times that it doesn’t fit into the LCU narrative structure—no overlapping characters, storylines, or universe-building elements are intended.

🧾 Summary:

Topic Status
Coolie Not part of LCU
Universe tie Officially declared separate
Kamal Haasan cameo Rumored voiceover, not a crossover
Release date August 14, 2025

So if you were wondering whether Coolie connects to Vikram or other LCU films—it does not.
