Kadri Manjunatha temple in Mangaluru goes for firewood to cook meals for devotees


Kadri Manjunatha temple, under Muzrai temple in Mangaluru, began using firewood for cooking meals for devotees from Thursday due to disruption in the supply of LPG cylinders.​

With scarcity in the supply of commercial LPG cylinders continuing, the Kadri Manjunatha temple, a prominent place of worship under Muzari department in the city, started cooking food for devotees using firewood on Thursday.

A trustee of the temple Dilraj Alva said the temple served ‘anna prasada’ (lunch) to around 1,500 people daily. The number goes up to 3,000 people on Saturday, Sunday and Monday. The temple kitchen uses four 19 k.g. quantity cylinders daily.
