Storyline

Set in the era of the Kadamba dynasty in ancient coastal Karnataka, Kantara: Chapter 1 is a prequel to the original Kantara. It explores the origins of the mythic and spiritual lore introduced earlier: divine guardianship of the land, rites like Daiva Kola, and the legendary roots of characters such as Kaadubettu Shiva. The story follows Berme (Rishab Shetty) as he enters a kingdom ruled by oppression, falls in love with Princess Kanakavathi (Rukmini Vasanth), and becomes intertwined with divine forces and ancient folklore.
