Raid 2 Advance Booking is Shocking Then Part 1 – Will It Match the First Film’s Success?

Ajay Devgn’s much-awaited Raid 2 is set to hit theatres on May 1, 2025, but early signs suggest that it might not replicate the explosive start of its predecessor. The 2018 hit Raid was made on a ₹72 crore budget and collected around ₹100 crore at the Indian box office. However, this time around, the Raid 2 advance booking is shocking then Part 1, with numbers falling short of expectations.

In the first 24 hours, Raid 2 managed to sell only around 30,000 tickets across top cinema chains like PVR, Inox, and Cinepolis, raking in approximately ₹92 lakh. While not entirely disappointing, this figure is certainly modest, especially considering the hype surrounding the film and its holiday release window.

A Modest Opening Expected Despite Holiday Advantage

Initially, trade analysts predicted that Raid 2 could open around ₹15 crore, leveraging the May Day holiday and franchise recall. But current booking patterns suggest a likely opening between ₹10 to ₹12 crore, making it clear that Raid 2 advance booking is shocking then Part 1, in terms of initial footfalls.

If the word-of-mouth doesn’t turn strong post-release, the film could see a steep dip on the second day, which lands on a working Friday. That could further affect its weekend performance unless Saturday and Sunday show significant growth.

Raid 3 Already in Talks – But Too Soon?

Despite the slow start, producers Bhushan Kumar and Kumar Mangat remain optimistic about the franchise’s future and have already hinted at Raid 3 being in the early planning stages. However, trade insiders suggest waiting for the box office performance of Raid 2 before officially moving forward.

After all, for any franchise to sustain, each installment needs to deliver commercially. For now, the focus must remain on whether Raid 2 can recreate the magic of the original.

Will Raid 2 Beat the Odds?

The pressure is undeniably high. While the Raid 2 advance booking is shocking then Part 1, the film still has the opportunity to win over audiences with a gripping narrative and Ajay Devgn’s intense performance. If that happens, it could still emerge as a sleeper hit.

For now, Bollywood awaits – and watches closely.
