Sardar 2: I am unable to understand why there is no hype for this movie. The trailer of this movie has been uploaded in different languages on different YouTube channels, each channel has maximum 1.5M views whereas the first part of this movie ruled in the hearts of people, but nowadays there is a need to present the second part better than the first part, due to which perhaps this movie seems unsuccessful in the beginning, the VFX and dialogues seem a bit weak. Everything else is fine, the movie will run, it is true, but for how long it will run, is not known.
Sardar 2 is an upcoming Tamil-language spy thriller directed by P.S. Mithran, serving as a sequel to the 2022 film Sardar. The film features Karthi reprising his dual roles as Agent Sardar Chandra Bose and Inspector Vijay Prakash. Joining the cast are S.J. Suryah, Sivakarthikeyan, Malavika Mohanan, Ashika Ranganath, Rajisha Vijayan, Yogi Babu, and Vishal. The screenplay is penned by Aashameera Aiyappan, Rathna Kumar, and P.S. Mithran.
Production commenced on July 12, 2024, and concluded by March 2025, with filming locations spanning Chennai, Hyderabad, Bangkok, Luton, Madurai, and Kochi. The film is produced by S. Lakshman Kumar under Prince Pictures and co-produced by Venkatesh of Ivy Entertainment.
The technical crew includes George C. Williams as the cinematographer, Vijay Velukutty as the editor, and Dhilip Subbarayan handling stunt direction. Music for the film is composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja.
While the exact budget has not been officially disclosed, reports suggest that Sardar 2 is Karthi’s most expensive film to date. As of now, the official release date has not been announced, but the film is expected to hit theaters later this year.
