Hombale Films is back with one of the most anticipated movies of the year – Kantara: Chapter 1. After the massive success of Kantara in 2022, which turned into a surprise blockbuster at the box office, the makers are now taking us back in time with a grand prequel that dives deeper into the roots of faith, folklore, and culture.
The highlight of this film is the gigantic temple set, famously called the “Temple of Time.” Built on the top of a hill, this massive structure has become the centerpiece of the movie. What makes it even more special is that the temple is designed to represent different eras across decades, making it a visual and cultural spectacle. To bring this idea to life, artists and technicians from all across India – Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Kerala, West Bengal, and beyond – came together and contributed their creativity.
The movie is being made on a massive scale. Over 500 fighters and nearly 3,000 participants were brought together to shoot an epic war sequence, spread across 25 acres of rugged land. This sequence alone took 45–50 days to film, making it one of the grandest battle scenes ever attempted in Indian cinema.
