The Visakhapatnam Port Authority (VPA) has unveiled a ₹384-crore roadmap, aimed at transforming it into a net-zero maritime hub by 2047.

Central to the plan is a massive energy revolution. The port is in the process of tripling its solar capacity from 10MW to 30MW. This expansion will power the full mechanisation of all bulk material terminals, supported by a sophisticated Energy Management System (EMS), utilising 320 digital meters to ensure real-time efficiency.
